Join us as we help local author Paul Doiron celebrate the release of his new book, The Poacher's Son. It is set to be released on May 11th. Doiron's first novel takes place in the Maine woods, and tells the story of young Mike Bowditch, a rookie game warden and the son of the legendary (and estranged) Jack Bowditch. Late one night, Jack leaves a cryptic message for his son, and soon Mike is on the trail of an alleged killer deep in the Maine woods. The suspect? His father.

“A richly imagined portrait of the vanishing wilderness in New England's farthest reaches, Doiron's well-written debut is also a taut thriller and a thoughtful examination of the complicated relationship between father and son." - Library Journal, Starred Review

Paul Doiron is the editor in chief of Down East: The Magazine of Maine, Down East Books, and DownEast.com. A native of Maine, he attended Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in English and he holds an MFA in creative writing from Emerson College. Paul is a Registered Maine Guide and lives on a trout stream in coastal Maine with his wife, Kristen Lindquist.
