THE DELUGE

Join us on Thursday, May 25 at 6:15pm for a special event featuring Stephen Markley, author of The Deluge.

The Deluge is a tale of a world on the brink of collapse. Beginning in 2013 and ending in 2039, the story follows a group of characters as they work through the chaos and challenges that the next few decades provide. As the intertwined stories of the characters hurtle toward a spectacular climax, each character faces a reckoning: what will they sacrifice to salvage humanity’s last chance at a future?

Published in January 2023, The Deluge was featured on the cover of the New York Times Book Review and the Washington Post called it  “a clear-eyed, climate-justice-minded page-turner. . . . Stephen Markley’s new novel is part thriller, part horror, part all-too-real. It’s scary, instructive and also entertaining.”

Stephen Markley is the acclaimed author of Ohio, which NPR called a “masterpiece.” A graduate of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, Markley’s other books include the memoir Publish This Book and the travelogue Tales of Iceland.
