Dealing with the Tough Stuff:
Practical Wisdom for Running a Values-Driven Business

Anyone who runs their own business will tell you: it isn't easy. There's always more work than time to do it, and for every time things seem under control, unforeseen complications await. The good news is, it IS possible. Sometimes, those who succeed at it will share the wealth of their expertise. Case in point, our visiting author Lisa Lorimer. Lorimer, a former CEO, has been running businesses for decades, and she and a panel of esteemed contributors have complied their guidance and counsel in the new book, Dealing with the Tough Stuff. These true stories about the real pitfalls of business reveal the struggles leaders face in a growing business. You'll see how successful business leaders across the country navigated tough challenges and survived. Dealing with the Tough Stuff is a practical examination of real-world failure and triumph, and whether the troubles are life-altering or everyday, Lorimer delivers the tools you need to get the job done -- with your values, your business, and your sanity intact.

Lisa Lorimer is the former CEO, President and majority owner of Vermont Bread Company in Brattleboro, VT (sold in 2005). During her 23-year tenure at her company, Vermont Bread was the largest majority woman-owned business in the state and was listed as one of the top ten fastest growing companies in Vermont. Lisa is a graduate of the Owner President Management Program at Harvard Business School.
